The Stack / Productivity

Guru

01 Intelligence

Yes for teams drowning in 'where's that doc?' — Guru's verification workflow (owners re-confirm truth on schedule) plus AI answers in Slack solves knowledge rot, not just knowledge search. Solo operators don't need it; teams past ~10 feel it daily.

The job in the stack

The team-knowledge seat: verified internal answers surfaced in Slack/browser, with AI that cites your own sources.

Pricing

PlanPriceNotes
PlatformcustomNo published self-serve tier — Guru scoped pricing to org size, knowledge complexity, and AI maturity on a first sales call. Third-party trackers cite a self-serve range around $10-25/user/mo (10-seat minimum), but the official pricing page no longer lists it.

Pricing verified 2026-08-04. Plans change — the source of truth is Guru's own pricing page.

The honest read

What works

  • +Verification loop keeps answers TRUE, not just findable
  • +Answers arrive in Slack/browser — where questions happen
  • +AI cites internal sources; hallucination bounded by design

What breaks

  • Value scales with team size — thin below ~10 people
  • Another system to seed; garbage in, garbage out
  • Per-user pricing accumulates at scale

Use it for

  • Support/sales teams needing consistent answers
  • Onboarding at hiring velocity
  • Companies formalizing tribal knowledge

Skip it if

  • ×You're solo — your second brain covers this
  • ×Notion discipline already works for your team

Questions operators ask

?Guru or Notion AI?

Notion stores knowledge; Guru keeps it verified and pushes it where work happens. The verification workflow is the differentiator — answers carry freshness guarantees, not just search relevance.

What changed

  1. Re-verified on getguru.com/pricing — still no published self-serve tier; Guru scopes every engagement through sales. Third-party aggregators continue to quote a retired $25–$30/seat plan with a 10-seat minimum; that pricing is not on Guru's own page and we do not carry it.
  2. Released from staging to the live stack. Real drift found: Guru pulled published self-serve pricing — the official pricing page is now fully sales-led ("book a call," "talk to sales"), no listed per-seat number. Rewrote the pricing table to reflect the custom model instead of the seeded ~$15/user/mo placeholder.
  3. Added to the stack (team-knowledge seat). Seeded from January 2026 baseline; pricing pending fresh verification by the update loop.
